TEACHER SPOTLIGHT
Colleen Smirl
Colleen Smirl joined our staff of instructors over 5 years ago. She has proved to be an extremely popular teacher of piano, voice and flute. We are proud to have her with us! She started piano lessons as a child with Mr. Townsend and continued through high school. Colleen also took flute lessons at Townsend, and voice lessons at another school, since w did no offer voice at the time. (We do offer voice, now) She majored in Piano Performance at Webster University and graduated with honors. She is a virtuoso pianist, vocalist and flutist.

She also has the unique ability a teacher needs, as do all of our instructors, to connect with her students, whether they are children, teenagers and adults. Please contact us for lessons with Colleen Smirl.

Our staff of degreed (3 with Masters Degrees) and performing artist professionals is unparalleled.  We believe it is the finest staff of music teachers to be found anywhere. The qualifications of our music instructors match or exceed the qualifications of any other music instructors or music schools in the nation. Each teacher has extensive experience in instructing students of all ages and all levels of advancement, including young beginners, continuing students, teenagers, and adults as well as advanced artist students.

All of our teachers are extremely dedicated, devoted and caring. The longevity and loyalty of our teachers is another indication of the quality of our school. Several have been with Townsend Music School for 20 years or more. It is very beneficial to stay with one teacher as long as possible.
Members of our prestigious teaching staff and the top music educators in the area include Tim Esching, Robert Henderson, Colleen Johnson, Lucy Kaymakanova, Robin Jumper, Lisa Oellerman, Tim Townsend.
